Summary
Wolf Player is a media player made by HBK Software Ltd. The app provides no content such as channels, films or series; users sign in with the details of their own provider (Xtream Codes or M3U). We use no advertising, analytics or tracking tools and we do not sell personal data.
Stored on your device
- Account details: server address, username, password or M3U link. Stored on this device only and sent only to the provider server you entered.
- Viewing data: favourites, watch history and resume points, your ratings, viewer profiles, parental-lock settings (the PIN only as a one-way hash) and app settings.
- Downloads: content you download for offline viewing, kept in the device's storage only.
Data that leaves your device
- Your provider: the app connects to the server you entered to sign in, fetch lists and play streams. That server is not operated by HBK Software; how it handles your data is the provider's responsibility.
- Cloud sync (optional): if you turn it on, favourites, watch history, ratings, viewer profiles and parental-lock settings (with the PIN hash) are sent to the sync server you enter in Settings. Account passwords are never synced.
- TMDB and OpenSubtitles (optional): if you enter your own API key, titles are sent to these services to look up artwork, cast and subtitles. Their own privacy policies apply.
- Voice search: only when you tap the microphone, your speech is turned into text by the device's speech service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS). Wolf Player keeps no recordings.
- Local network: QR sign-in on a TV and the phone remote work only between your devices on your home network.
Notifications and permissions
Programme reminders and new-episode alerts are created on the device. Microphone and notification permissions are only requested when you use those features and can be turned off at any time in the device settings.
Children
Wolf Player is not directed at children under 13. The kids' profiles and PIN-protected category locks are for parents to use on their own devices.
Deleting your data
Removing an account in the app deletes all of its local data; uninstalling the app deletes everything. To delete cloud-sync data, turn sync off or contact us.
